Blog #6: Bike life

When I was 12, I one day came back home from school and had seen two teenagers that were lifting their bike’s front wheel off the ground, at the moment I was astonished by how cool it looked being able to ride with one wheel. When I came back home I started to search on youtube for “bike tricks” and I was immediately influenced to get my first bike and start learning tricks. As time passed by, I got a bike and I would ride in an empty area to practice my wheelies. After months and numerous fails, I could finally wheelie for a decent time. One day I decided to call my cousin and go for a small ride around his block, and when we would both wheelie into the sunset, it just had put me in a zone where I was disconnected from the real world and that caused me to forget about all my stressful problems. This was the time where I realized that this is not just a bike trick.

These past events had opened a new opportunity for me to get a dirt-bike. To this day I am still in the process of trying to own one, The Yamaha YZ 125 dirt bike is a 2 stroke power. It’s
LxWxH is 84.1 in x 32.5 in x 51.0 in. It’s a fuel capacity is 1.8 gal. If I get this dirt-bike I want to ride it on the beach, the Marzouga desert, forests and even some empty parking lots where I can gather with people that have the same passion that I have.

However, this is a dangerous and risky passion that I fell in love with. Some people take drug, drink or even commit suicide to escape their reality (even if I don’t have to deal with problems as major as theirs) I feel freedom when my front wheel is facing the sky as the  shallow wind hits my face while riding through a sunset.

  1. Anas all I can say is I have felt the same thing as you. Being able to just escape all of your problems is just one of the best feelings. Like you I also escape my problems when I do things like riding quads, buggy's or even playing sports. There's just something about this feeling of having an empty mind and thinking about one thing.

  2. However, I don't know about the idea of owning a dirt bike because that is probably one of the most dangerous things a person can get on. I like how enthusiastic you're about this I'd just recommend to go with the safest choice !

  3. My older brother use to own a dirt bike and all I can say is that he regretted it. He was fully immersed in the bike life, even if it was illegal he would go out day and night. Thankfully the authorites never caught him, but the rush he felt everytime, looking over his shoulder everytime was too tiring for him. So I wouldn't reccomend a dirtbike, but at the end of the day its your choice.

  4. As someone who to this day doesn't know how to ride a bike, or has never rode a motorcycle, I thought it was really cool to get insight as to what people when riding these vehicles. Something I particularly liked about this blog entry is how you clearly establish how significant this 'hobby' (if you will) is to you and you explain why. And, you managed to balance both this emotional and even subjective argument with a certain objectivity when really providing the readers with descriptions behind the engineering of the vehicles.
