Blog#9: Finishing off with the Romantics Video

 Hello everyone, this short video summarizes and goes over my modern and romantic era essay. The comparison between the modern and romantic periods is described in a more efficient and simple way. I wasn't able to cover the ideas that I wanted, however it still gives the reader an overall idea on what my essay talks about. Hope you enjoy :)

    Wow! Excellent approach to nature. You chose a unique topic that raises environmental awareness and discusses a major global issue. The evidence you chose to support your idea is unique, but more importantly, it directly relates to your main idea. I just hope your writing does the same.

    Good Job, Anas! I liked how you used the topic of how nature is disregarded. How people focus more on technology than nature? this is a good topic as it was and is still a major global issue. With your ideas, I think a lot of people are going to start appreciating nature. if your writing states all your ideas briefly and concisely then your paper should be good. more people will start appreciating nature because this paper will raise awareness of how a lot of people use technology excessively and disregard nature.

    I like how you made the connection between nature's importance and perspective in the romantic and modern eras. I don't believe things will improve as long as people are distracted by new technologies and do not value the natural world around them. I also think you did a wonderful job selecting your evidence to back up your claims, as they were all interesting.

    Hello Anasss! Great Job on your blog. My blog was quite similar to yours since I also touched upon how individuals are more focused on a certain aspects of beauty, in other words, someone's outside appearance than their inside. You, on the other hand, decided to go with a different approach by signifying nature rather than individuals and how other modern day advancements are stirring them away from nature. Using DiCaprio's campaign was a great approach as you helped challenge others and make them wonder how a campaign would be seen as a great connection.

Girl Commentary Girl is a short story that is written by Jamaica Kincaid. The whole story consists of one single line. The mother is having an argument with her daughter about how she should be meeting a girl's standards in a society.  "You are really going to be the kind of woman who the baker won’t let near the bread" (Kincaid 1). This is an example, the mother uses to shows her daughter the consequences she would be facing if she becomes a "Slut". The girl was only able to interrupt twice during the whole conversation in order for her to defend herself. While I was reading this short story, I realized how these types arguments and issues separate mothers and their daughters. This is conveyed in the overall theme of mom/daughter relationship, and their sexual reputation.

  Sleeping is my favorite thing to do, but it’s not the same reason as everyone else. The reason why I love sleeping is that I can lucid dream. A lucid dream is when you are aware that you are dreaming, from that point on you can control your dream and do anything you want. In order to tell if you are dreaming you can check by closing your nose and if you can still breathing that means that you are dreaming. That’s because your real body in bed is not actually moving. Having the power to do anything makes me feel superior. When I am in a lucid dream I have the most amount of excitement, I can meet up with any celebrity, I can spawn everywhere. I can have conversations in dreams that would be impossible for me to have in real life. However, there are cons of lucid dreaming, it is possible to have sleep paralysis, having too much fun in a dream affects your mood in real life. Some people describe lucid dreaming as a drug except it doesn’t have major side effects.
